Since I'm teaching a class on beginning clothesmaking, I'm putting together a notecard on where to attach stuff. I have put together one from the clothes I've seen, but I havn't seen everything you guys do. Please comment on this notecard draft. I'm wondering what the general consensus is; There does in fact seem to be a sort of standard. Shoes and Pants are the things I know the least about
Here is where stuff typically is attached for Wynx Tinies: Head: | Skull | Hair | | Mouth | Noms | | Nose | Tiny Head | | Chin | Hat (option 1) | | Left Ear | Hat (option 2), or bows | | Right Ear | Hat (option 3), or bows |
Eyeballs Eyeballs are not useful for visible attachments since they wiggle wierdly with no way to stop them. I use them for unseen scripted attachments, like my hugger | Left Eyeball | unseen scripted objects | | Right Eyeball | unseen scripted objects |
Torso: | Chest | Shirt | | Left Shoulder | | | Right Shoulder | | | Spine | Shirt, Pants, skirt, dress, option 2 | | Pelvis | Pants, skirt, dress, sometimes horses or other wearable vehicles | | Stomach | Tiny Body | | Left Pec | | | Right Pec | |
Arms: | Left/Right Hand | Less used; gestures tend to wiggle it around a lot. Second option for holdable stuff | | L/R Upper Arm | Tiny Arm, replacement arm for costumes | | L/R Forearm | Sleeves, food, weapons, anything you hold |
Legs: | Left/Right Foot | | | Left/Right Hip | Pant Leg | | L/R Upper Leg | Tiny Leg, leg-replacing pant leg or boot | | L/R Lower Leg | Shoe |

Short answer: I don't know about glasses
Long answer: I've never looked at glasses. Biggie glasses usually go on the nose, I think, which would take off a tiny head. The ones I make attach to the mouth by default but have a script in them that let you attach them to any head attach point without adjusting. It's called Multipoint attach. I got it from raymond, and it served as the first of two insights that led me to create safetypin. IM me if you want it. Azelle's AnyTiny system may do something similar to multipoint attach; I havn't looked at it.

I think attach points like skull and nose are dependant on whether you wear hair (for instance) or not. I often wear glasses on the chin and hats on the skull. If I wear hair, it depends on whether I wear glasses or not (get the circle we're getting in?). My solution: hats and such are often copyable. I just copy them for the attach point that is needed on a given moment. So if I'm wearing hair on my skull and I want a hat on top, I copy the hat (so I can revert to the skull version) and wear it on my chin.

Most of the attachment points are similar for Kuroboro-Works tinies Head Points:Skull - Head Mouth - Headphones Nose - OpenChin - OpenEars - OpenEyeballs - Open (just as funky in Tapple's list) Body Points:Chest - Open or KX-Bit Launcher (Optional Part Sold Separately) Spine - Open or KX Missile Launcher (Optional Part Sold Separately) Pelvis - Tail/Cord Stomach - Body Pecs - OpenShoulders - OpenArms:Upper Arm - Arm Forearm - OpenHand - Open (just as funky in Tapple's list) Legs:Upper Legs - Legs Lower Legs - OpenFeet - OpenHips - Open (Only good for invisible attachments since the animations cause these to move funky) Basically Kuroboro-Works tinies can use most of the same attached items as Wynx tinies with minor position and/or size adjustments on the points I listed as Open, the two launchers are listed as a reference for where they attach

are you sure hips move funky? in my testing the hip and upper leg are attach points on the same bone, and thus hip is the ideal place for pant legs, as it always is aligned with the tiny leg for any animation (even unfolded biggie ones)

I've found that a lot of clothing attaches to the nose (biggie clothing anyway, such as glasses) so here is something I've been doing to take care of such issues:
I attach my dwagon's HEAD to RIGHT EAR.
The LEFT EAR is where I put hair.
The skull is reserved for hats.
This leaves the nose free for things like glasses.
Using this simple method, I find I can wear almost anything. Interestingly most accessories makers seldom use ears for anything but earrings. So the right ear for the tiny head is a perfect attachment point, leaving the skull for hats and the left ear for hair. Since all three of those attachment points are "solid" (they don't move), this results in a stable head area.

There is good news for tinies about attachment points; several viewers (Viewer 2, Phoenix, etc.) have the option to put multiple items on the same attachment point.
If you right click (Ctrl+click on a Mac) an object in your inventory, there is the Add option underneath Wear.
Basically set something to an attachment point and position it, detach it and put something else in that same spot, now hit the Add option for the first item, you will now have two items on the same attachment point. Now if you forgot to position the item, Add still works like Wear in this case, but you still have to set the attachment point first.
I have done simple experiments with this and it works, plus I hear about other people testing this feature out in my other groups with good results; looks like LL finally did something right with new viewer features and it was something long overdue.

yeah.. i've seen this.. And if someone uses a different viewer from the one you used to attach your "clothes, hats, belts, wigs" they see them in strange places. I've seen skirts worn above the head and tails worn half way across the room.. Interesting as this may be, I'm not sure its the look people were going for.

This is actually different from the older doubled attachment points Phoenix used to have, from what I'm hearing, no matter what viewer you are on, the extra attachments show up normally as if they are part of the first item. I will run some more tests on this myself to try and confirm this idea.

on viewers that don't support multiple objects per attach point, only the last item you wore on that attach point shows up; the others don't

Good to know Tapple, until all viewers can support this very useful feature, we could make our items work both ways. I can pass around a very useful freebie script that remembers the positions of every attachment point you set as the workaround for the older viewers and it should also work for the Add feature. Now if we can work out a way to completely get rid of those ugly invisiprims as more viewers support AV alpha masks, we tinies should have more options open for clothing/accessories.

Safetypin, inspired by Raymond's script, also helps, as it lets a tiny detatch an item from a conflicting point and attach it to another, and it will be in the same place
